Dr. Chia Wu is originally from Taipei, Taiwan. Her parents moved to the U.S. when she was very young and raised her in southern California. She attended the University of California, San Diego where she received her B.S. in Physiology and Neuroscience in the beautiful town of La Jolla. It was at UCSD where she volunteered as an assistant at a free dental clinic run by pre-dental students to provide care to those less fortunate. This work inspired her passion for dentistry and led her to pursue her Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) from Temple University, Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA. Being a firm believer in advancing her education to the highest level, she received further training in the care of patients with complex medical conditions and advanced dental restoration challenges at a two-year general residency at New York Hospital of Queens in Flushing, NY. Here she received training in a variety of other areas of dentistry including oral surgery, periodontics (gum health), pedodontics (child dentistry), endodontics (root canal therapy), and implant dentistry.
Dr. Wu continues her education even now by frequently attending courses in advanced cosmetic and restorative dentistry, orthodontics (both invisible braces and brackets/wires), and implant restorative dentistry to make sure her patients not only receive the most up to date quality care but also receive the education they need to understand their oral health conditions. She is an active member of various dental organizations, including, the Arizona Dental Association, Academy of General dentistry, Central Arizona Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.
When she is not doing dentistry, she enjoys going on long nature walks or hikes, cooking various types of ethnic foods, and most importantly, spending time with close family and friends.
